All of our classrooms teach Spanish, Sign language, Yoga, Cultural Studies, Zoophonics, Music, Art and more. The children participate in daily outdoor activities and occasional field trips. Each teacher puts together a lesson plan for their classroom along with a calendar
Parent/teacher conferences are held 2-3 times per year along with daily opportunities to converse and get to know our staff. We strive to make Stepping Stones in Kamas a warm, inviting family environment that fosters open and honest communication. We believe it takes a village and are honored to be a part of your family.
Our students and staff are actively engaged and interacting all day long. We don’t use TV, movies or video games but instead offer hands on interaction and lessons that will last a lifetime.

What is Montessori-Inspired?
A method of education developed over 100 years ago by Italian physician Maria Montessori. This child-centered educational approach is based on the scientific observation of children and used in many parts of the world. The Montessori Method views the child as the one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It attempts to develop children physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
Stepping Stones offers a uniquely designed learning environment for all of our students. Our space is a supportive community of students and guides that respect children as unique individuals. Our community is designed to correspond to students’ developmental characteristics, interest, and abilities. Stepping Stones starts with the premise that children naturally want to learn, they learn in many different ways, and at their own pace. Learning is focused on experience, investigation, and research through active engagement, not rote drill and memorization. We are only 15 minutes from Park City!
